Your journey begins at the visitors center lawn, where you''ll start the Gabbi Karniny Bidi ''Discover the Salt Lakes'' trail. Enjoy panoramic views of the island from Vlamingh Lookout and observe the birdlife at Lake Baghdad. The ''walking on water'' boardwalks offer a unique experience, safeguarding the delicate samphire communities below. A visit to the Wadjemup Lighthouse provides stunning views from the island''s highest point.
As the day warms up, cool off with a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Little Parakeet Bay, Geordie Bay, Longreach Bay, and The Basin. The hike concludes in the main settlement, where you''re free to enjoy lunch and explore the island in your unique style.

To join the hike, meet at the small grassed area in front of the visitors center on Rottnest Island. Ferry tickets from Fremantle can be added at checkout. The trail difficulty is Grade 3, with some inclines, declines, and sand walking. Comfortable clothes, shoes, and sun protection are recommended.
