Tassie Bound Adventure Tours, a We Wander partner, invites you to join them on an unforgettable kayaking experience in Hobart, Tasmania. The ''Paddle with the Platypus'' adventure offers a unique opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and spot these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat.

This 2-hour fully guided tour operates every evening from September to May, with additional morning paddles from November to March. Gentle river currents will guide you through local hop fields and farmlands, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop for your journey. Pause along the way to enjoy a locally prepared tasting platter in the evenings or a freshly baked morning tea.

As shy and elusive as platypus are, Tassie Bound Adventure Tours has spent over seven seasons studying their behavior and has identified a stretch of river, accessible only by kayak, where platypus are particularly active during the warmer months. This exclusive tour provides visitors with the best chance of viewing these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat.

Perfect for first-time paddlers, families, and platypus enthusiasts, no prior kayaking experience is required. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours provides all premium kayak and safety equipment, as well as transfers back to your vehicle at the completion of the tour. Complimentary photos will be provided at the end of your experience.

In addition to platypus spotting, this tour includes a safety demonstration, local guides, and a taste of Derwent Valley''s award-winning produce. Embrace the beauty of Australia''s water sports and embark on a paddling adventure that will leave you with a deeper appreciation for nature and the elusive platypus.
