During the course, you will work closely with the distillery''s staff, giving you an insider''s view of the distilling and barreling processes. You''ll also gain a deep understanding of distillery plant equipment, water filtration, preparation and cleaning regimes, and ATO requirements for distilled spirits. The course includes a visit to Australian industry leaders in still manufacturing, coopering, and whisky wash production.

At Old Kempton Distillery, you''ll have the chance to taste a variety of spirits while discussing the various aspects of distilling with the team. You''re encouraged to take notes and ask questions, as there are no secrets to the distillation process. The course is hands-on and not computerized, allowing you to fully understand the mechanics of distillation.

Throughout the course, you''ll have the opportunity to ask questions about distillery design, equipment needs, and production schedules. The course covers anticipated volumes, forecasting, and production schedules to help you make an informed decision about the suitable size of plant and equipment for your business plan.

Old Kempton Distillery provides morning tea, lunch, and afternoon daily, made with premium Tasmanian ingredients. The distillery can help arrange pick up and drop off daily from the Old Woolstore, located in Macquarie Street Hobart, at a discounted corporate rate.
