The tour starts near the Canning River Bridge in Riverton, where you''ll paddle slowly into the wetlands area, taking in the stunning birdlife, and learning about the area''s historical and cultural significance.
The tour covers a calm section of the Canning River, rated as easy, with approximately 40 minutes of paddling in each direction. Your guide will provide you with a kayak, paddle, life jacket, and a ''Dry Bag'' to protect your belongings. They will also share their knowledge about the area''s geographical and horticultural secrets, making this an informative and enjoyable experience.
The tour includes a well-earned break at Kent Street Weir before heading back to the starting point via a slightly different route. The tour duration is approximately 3-4 hours, and it is essential to wear weather-appropriate clothing, a hat, sunscreen, and bring a full water bottle, some money, and shoes that can be worn in the water.
