Off The Beaten Track WA takes hikers on an unforgettable journey through the Kalamunda to Mundaring Weir section of the Bibbulmun Track. This 18.5km hike features steep rocky terrain, flowing waters, and breathtaking views of the Mundaring Weir and Lake CY O''Connor.
The adventure begins at the Bibbulmun Track Northern Terminus in Kalamunda, where hikers will travel through the former golf course of Jorgensen Park and into Kalamunda National Park. The trail follows the creek line of Piesse Brook, offering spectacular valley views before heading uphill past granite outcrops and lush Jarrah forest.
Hikers will enjoy a delicious lunch at Trails Hub Cafe before continuing through Paulls Valley and its awe-inspiring views. The trail leads to the Golden View lookout, where hikers can marvel at the views of the Mundaring Weir. The hike continues through Beelu National Park, passing large granite boulders before reaching the Mundaring Weir and Lake CY O''Connor.
At the end of the hike, hikers can enjoy a refreshing drink at the Mundaring Weir Hotel and reflect on their achievement. Off The Beaten Track WA provides a trained and experienced guide, hiking poles, sunscreen, repellent, and access to all hike photographs.
Hikers should have a reasonable level of fitness, as the trail covers 18.5kms at a pace of approximately 3-4kms/hour. Hikers are required to bring 3 liters of water, a camera, personal first aid, snacks, and a good attitude.
