Minga Aboriginal Cultural Services, a 100% Aboriginal-owned and operated business in Regional NSW, offers an enriching and authentic 2-hour traditional basket weaving workshop. This cultural experience is a perfect opportunity to learn about the art and craft of the Yuin people while getting hands-on with rafia and natural grasses to create your own basket.

The workshop not only focuses on the ancient sustainability practices of the Yuin people but also incorporates storytelling and Dreamtime stories unique to the local area. This engaging and educational experience caters to all ages, making it an ideal family activity. Under 5s are welcome to join for free.

Throughout the 2-hour session, you will be guided by Patricia, a respected member of the Brinja Yuin and Walbanga; Dhurga speaking people of Moruya. Patricia''s deep connection to Country ensures an authentic and transformative experience, allowing participants to learn about the culture and crafts of the Yuin people.

The workshop will take place outdoors when the weather is favorable, providing a unique opportunity to connect with the land. If it rains, the session will be held in the Naroooma Visitors Information Centre.
