SA Eco Tours invites you to join them on an unforgettable 5-day 4WD safari, exploring the stunning natural beauty of Regional South Australia. This tour does not depart from Adelaide, instead, you will need to make your way to Coober Pedy, known as the ''opal capital of the world.''
Coober Pedy is famous for its underground homes, called ''dugouts,'' which provide respite from the scorching heat. The town is located on the edge of the Stuart Ranges and is surrounded by a stony, treeless desert, with very little plant life due to the low rainfall and lack of topsoil.
The tour departs Coober Pedy on day 1 at approximately 2 pm, and you will visit underground churches, opal shops, and displays. You will also learn about the area on a guided mine tour. After lunch, you will cross the famous dingo fence and travel along the red sandhill tracks through Anna Creek station to William Creek.
Over the next four days, you will continue your journey through Regional South Australia, visiting Lake Eyre South National Park, Maree, Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary, and the Flinders Ranges. You will have the opportunity to take part in optional extras such as scenic flights, 4WD ridge top tours, and night sky observatory experiences.
