Manly Sailing, a renowned sailing school based in the beautiful and picturesque location of Greater Sydney, NSW, offers a range of sailing experiences that are sure to excite and inspire. Perfect for those new to sailing, their Start Crewing course is the perfect introduction to keelboat sailing. Over the course of a weekend, you''ll learn the fundamentals of sailing, including boat handling, safety, and sailing theory. You''ll also be introduced to basic sailing terminology, rules, knots, tacking, gybing, and man overboard recovery.

Once you''ve completed the Start Crewing course, the next step is the Start Helming course. This course is designed to build on your existing knowledge and skills, with a focus on developing your ability to confidently take control of the helm. You''ll learn about boat preparation, helming, trim on all points of sail, and man overboard recovery while at the helm. By the end of this course, you''ll have a solid understanding of the basics of steering a boat and the responsibilities that come with being a helmsman.

Both courses are taught by experienced instructors who are qualified by Australian Sailing and are committed to providing a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment. The courses are 12 hours in total and run over two consecutive days from 9 am to 3 pm. Students are required to bring sun-safe clothing, sunscreen, non-marking shoes, and a water bottle. Life jackets are provided.
